چکیده
In this study, the botanical pesticide Suaeda maritima (L) leaf extract was evaluated against yellow stem borer (YSB), Scirpophaga incertulas Walker (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), and bacterial blight disease Xanthomonas oryzae pv. (Xoo), of rice. S. leaves were powdered subjected to various organic solvents, like petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, methanol based on polarity, in which acetate produced significant mortality rate YSB larvae a dose dependent manner also affected development feeding activity larvae. The extracts displayed an effective control Xoo. gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis revealed presence nine vital compounds. We have observed is safe non-target organisms, as they did not cause any toxicity earthworm Eisenia foetida. Therefore, these findings suggest that can be used pest agent

Effect of phenol on ultra structure and plasmid DNA of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae.
Most phenolic substances of plant origin are toxic to microorganisms and they confer some degree of protection to plants against phytopathogens. Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae, bacterial blight pathogen of rice (Oryza sativa) was treated with phenol (monohydroxy benzene) and its effects on the morphology and cytological changes of the bacterium were studied. Total lysis of cells occurred with 5 ...
متن کاملAntagonistic Interactions Between Strains of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae.
ABSTRACT The ability of some phytopathogenic bacterial strains to inhibit the growth of others in mixed infections has been well documented. Here we report that such antagonistic interactions occur between several wild-type strains of the rice bacterial blight pathogen Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae. In mixed inoculations, a wild-type Philippine strain was found to inhibit the growth of a wild-t...
متن کاملMolecular determinants of disease and resistance in interactions of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae and rice.
Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae is the causal agent of rice bacterial blight disease. Numerous genes critical for virulence have been identified. This article reviews current knowledge on the molecular mechanisms of X. oryzae pv. oryzae virulence.
متن کاملToxicity and bioaccumulation of ethofumesate enantiomers in earthworm Eisenia fetida.
Earthworms represent an important food source for many vertebrates and as a result, predators may encounter toxic effects via the food chain from consumption of contaminated worms. Therefore, including an assessment of xenobiotic to worms in risk assessment procedures is advisable. Here we studied the acute toxicity, bioaccumulation and elimination of ethofumesate enantiomers in earthworm, Eise...
متن کاملIdentification and Characterization of Integron-Mediated Antibiotic Resistance in the Phytopathogen Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae
Four streptomycin-resistant isolates of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (YNA7-1, YNA10-2, YNA11-2, and YNA12-2) were examined via PCR amplification for the presence of class 1, class 2, and class 3 integrons and aadA1 and aadA2 genes, which confer resistance to streptomycin and spectinomycin. The class 1 integrase gene intI1 and the aminoglycoside adenylyltransferase gene aadA1 were identified in...
